What? Hipping? Really? Goodness gracious, Mr. President. You're just adorable sometimes. At any rate, since President Obama is expanding his hip-hop repertoire, we've been thinking about a few other artists he might want to add to his somewhat pathetic 2,000-song iPod, find our picks after the jump.
5. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty
There's something about picturing the president dancing around in the Oval Office while listening to "Shutter Bug" that brings a smile to our faces. Can you see it? It's an imaginary sight to behold.
4. Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... pt II
Simply put: Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...pt II is one of the best hip-hop records released in the past five years. Okay, that might be arguable, but naysayers notwithstanding, it's a great record, and one that could inspire the president to shake his booty on Air Force One on more than one occasion.
3. Ghostface Killah - Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City
If you would have asked us how we felt about Ghostface tackling R&B before listening to this record, we probably would have made some type of puking motion. The album's still a little weird and not really R&B, but we're pretty certain the president could use some oversexed fun in his life.
2. Anti-Pop Consortium - Fluorescent Black
This one might be debatable on the "popular" factor, but it's still among the best hip-hop albums to be released in the last couple of years. Fluorescent Black might not be as weird and quirky as Anti-Pop's other albums, but it's that factor that makes it a great record to infiltrate the president's iPod.
1. Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: The End of Day
He might have just plead guilty to drug possession, but that doesn't mean Kid Cudi's trademark genre bending effort shouldn't find its way onto the president's iPod at some point. Like the Ghostface Killah album listed earlier, The End of Day has a little something for everyone, and Obama could certainly find something he likes here.
