We know it's a drive, but if you're anywhere near Vail this Friday night, Omega and Language Love are launching some whompy fun at Paddy's Pub for Bridging the Music's Dub at the Pub. For something on the lighter, spiritual side, Tao of Bass is at Lumonics Light and Sound Gallery and will feature meditation with David Stevens of Yoga of the Mind, Qiqong with Brian "Seraiah" Wood, and aura healings from David Stevens and Rochelle Fisher to the sweet sounds and dance works of DJ Illnaughty and others. The Socialites with DJ Petey throw down for Forever Fridays at Beta. (9 p.m., 21+, $5) The legendary Jesse Saunders -- the originator of house music -- is headlining What Is House? at the Oriental Theater, part of Saunders' Art of the DJ tour; the show will feature mind-blowing visuals and carry listeners through the history of electronic music, from house to the dozens of different sub-genres of electronica we hear today. Locals Uriah West, Rescue, Brett Starr and Joey M will support this epic show, which goes till 3 a.m. Sunday morning, so feel free to stop by late! (9 p.m., 18+, $15)
Funky Buddha is hosting Matthew Bandy this week for House Guest! Saturdays; the Limestone Recordings founder and former Denver resident will be supported by Steve Synfull and Greg Campbell, plus resident DJ Wushu in the main room. Ladies' drinks are only a dollar from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. (9 p.m., 21+)
The Blend is keeping with its intention of wide-ranging genres and sounds by bringing in Bones on Saturday night to the Meadowlark, joined by Blend resident Hoang. (9 p.m., 21+, $5 cover)
Bassnectar will be at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison this Saturday with Beats Antique and ESKMO. The promise is to "paint the rocks with bass" and people are eating it up; the show is sold out, but we know you have your ways of finding tickets, don't you?. (8 p.m., All Ages, $?)

Altered Egos is celebrating its one-year anniversary at Vinyl this Saturday alongside Hycloud, Soulshocker and Seamus. Get some electro and progressive or get dirty to hip-hop, house and mash-ups. Saturday night, there's support for Pride Fest at City Hall with Girl Pride featuring DJ Tatiana, DJ Shina-G, DJ Blaque Gurl, DJ Corona, DJ Pnut and more, with special guest Kitty Crimson and the country stylings of DJ Shannon upstairs.
