Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Fresh on the heels of issuing his white hot Western Conference mixtape with DJ Bedz, on which Spoke In Wordz spits with an absolutely venomous freestyle fire (don't miss the lines, "Fuck the Westword, I ain't kissing ass to perform" on "Get Rich to This Freestyle"), comes the MC's new video for "Never Let Go."
Directed by Eric Heights, the Mile High City's veritable go-to guy, the clip is dependably stylized like the other videos Heights has worked on (see his handiwork on videos from The Pirate Signal, Ichiban, Deca, ManeRok and 3 the Hardway, among others).
Pivoting on a smooth beat produced by Noel Zancanella, the video finds Spoke reflecting on a relationship with his significant other, with shots of him in a wine bar (the Living Room?) and at home with his lady, all brought to life through Heights's signature high contrast style. Look for a cameos by Spoke's Radio Bum protege DJ Chonz, and the Denver skyline, which serves as the backdrop.
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
