If you read the profile of the Rouge in this week's issue, you know that the band blanches at the prospect of being considered a pop band. Nonetheless, one listen to Joshua Vaught's instantly memorable melodies couched in the beyond tuneful framework of the compositions, and it seems glaringly remiss to file the band's music under anything else. Semantics aside, for our money, the Rouge is one of the brightest new acts to emerge in recent memory -- which speaks volumes considering the wealth of talent this town is producing right now. By all means, don't just take our word for it. Check out footage of the group we shot last weekend in Fort Collins and pick up the title track off the band's new EP for free after the jump. If you like what you hear (and we're confident you will), head over to Max3 and purchase the rest of the disc.
