With the annual CMJ fest kicking off in just a little less than a month, Brooklyn Vegan has announced plans to have Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel -- one of the Denver acts slated to make the trek; the Photo Atlas, the Knew and Jim McTurnan and the Kids That Killed the Man being the others -- to play at its party at Music Hall of Williamburg on Tuesday, October 20. Not a bad gig. Bon Iver performed at the blog's party last year. The association isn't too surprising. You might remember earlier this year at South By Southwest Rateliff and company stepped in for a tardy Pains of Being Pure Heart at the blog's day party. So far, the Williamsburg gig is one of three for Rateliff & the Wheel. Two nights later, the outfit is slated to appear on a bill with Portugal. The Man, Temper Trap, Drug Rug and All the Day holiday, with another show the following night at a yet-to-be-named venue. Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel are in the midst of a brief tour right now but will be returning home for a show at the Boulder Theater on Friday, October 2 before heading to CMJ.
