Jourdan Adler, the owner of the 1Up, the hip arcade/bar in LoDo, has opened a second outpost of his video game-centric bar in the former Pete's Monkey Bar space at 717 East Colfax, the 2Up. Last night, the 2Up -- complete with 35 games, eight pinball machines and three skee-ball lanes -- had a soft opening. Our resident shutterbug, Aaron Thackeray, was on hand and brought back some photos. Page down to have a look.

Adler says the bar is the "kid sister" of the 1Up in LoDo, and has "some obscure arcade titles like Journey, Jungle King, Elevator Action, Kung Fu Master and VS. Excitebike. "The pinball collection includes a Cirqus Voltaire, AC/DC Premium, Iron Man, Spider-Man, T2, Lord of The Rings, Star Trek Next Generation and South Park," he says, also noting that, "unfortunately, there is no Giant Jenga at the 2up."

For music, the 2Up has what's considered "old school" in 2012: A CD jukebox instead of the common Internet-based TouchTunes jukebox. "We are gonna keep things a bit more old school here at the 2up," Adler says, before jumping back into this century by noting the bar will "feature webcasts of touring bands."

As for the libations, the 2Up will offer popular local craft beers such as Left Hand, Ska and Breckenridge, among others, in addition to the Coors Lights and Stellas: Nitro IPA, Bristol Laughing Lab, Bristol Mass Transit, Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, Great Divide Rumble, Dry Dock Hefe, Ska Pinstripe, Avery White Rascal, Stella, Breckenridge Fantastic Pour, Dale's Pale Ale and Coors Light.

The bar will not feature the 40-ounce bottles so popular at the 1Up, Adler says, but it will have Mickey's malt liquor "grenades" and Colt 45 cans. The rest of the can selection at the 2Up will remain almost the same as the original location.
