This news will probably come as no surprise to those who were paying attention last summer when HEALTH sang the praises of Pictureplane in Pitchfork: Travis Egedy, who makes music under the Pictureplane moniker, has been picked up by Lovepump United. The New York-based imprint, which has also issued platters by HEALTH, is slated to release Pictureplane's Trance Doll 7-inch on Tuesday, March 10. A week later, Pictureplane will hit the road with HEALTH for a dozen dates, including a stop in Austin during South by Southwest. The full dates are posted after the jump along with a crazy, nearly unintelligible video of Egedy interviewing Galaxy Face. Catch Egedy spinning a DJ set this weekend at Rhinoceropolis.

Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
