Reader: Broadcast radio is so twentieth century


, Colorado Public Radio's new music-driven station, soon to be much more well known by the

OpenAir 1340 AM


made its broadcast debut yesterday

. To our ears, it sounded like a slightly more accessible version of

Radio 1190

, which makes sense considering that OpenAir is being programmed by

Mike Flanagan

, who spent half a dozen years overseeing the former signal's operations, and staffed by a crew of mostly former 1190 DJs. While

tons of folks praised the station on its Facebook page

, not everybody, it seems, is thrilled by its arrival, including
