In the past decade, South Broadway has turned into a thriving hub for music and nightlife in Denver with a variety of options to whittle away your evenings, whether you're taking in a show at places like 3 Kings Tavern, the hi-dive, Gary Lee's Motor Club, the Skylark or getting your groove on Blue Ice. Much like this list's Colfax counterpart, South Broadway has a number of culinary gems to tempt your tastebuds before or after hitting the town. Keep reading for a rundown of your ten best bets.

10. Irish Rover, 54 S. Broadway The Irish Rover is a long-time, enduring locals-favorite in the Baker 'hood, and it could be because of the constantly rotating drink specials, or the perfectly-poured Guinness pints. Or maybe it's the swank, re-vamped outdoor patio. More likely, however, it's their famous Irish Nachos, an amazingly delicious mess of fried potato chips, cheese, corned-beef, and horseradish sauce. Plus, the kitchen is open until Midnight on the weekends.
9. Famous Pizza, 98 S. Broadway Famous Pizza has been slinging pies on Broadway for over thirty years -- and customers return as much for the nostalgia of a classic New York pizza spot as they do for the cheap, melty slices. The service is fast, even when the streets fill with people leaving the surrounding bars on snack missions.
8. Moe's Original BBQ, 3295 S. Broadway Moe's Original is ideal if you're seeing a show or hanging out at one the South Broadway dives and you need some sustenance to soak up the suds. The barbecue here is served up until midnight with fare ranging from pulled pork and brisket to sweet baked beans and banana pudding.

7. The Breakfast King, 300 W. Mississippi Ave. If breakfast is your meal of choice, take the hike to Breakfast King. A few blocks off of South Broadway, it's arguably one of the best diner experiences in the city. Step into the 1970s, sit on the plush (sort of) vinyl seats and try something off of their absolutely endless menu of delights -- from french toast to chicken fried steak. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the place never closes.
6. Denver Wheel Club 404, 300 W. Mississippi Ave. Denver Wheel Club 404, the reincarnation of Club 404, made the transformation from hole-in-the-wall dive bar to a cleaned-up, bike-friendly hipster joint. We're not saying you won't find your old friends and characters at the bar, but the crowd is younger, the atmosphere is updated and the food is even better this time around. Grab a burger or a basket of wings; the kitchen is open late.
5. Spicy Basil, 1 Broadway Spicy Basil is a South Broadway staple for Baker locals, dishing up addictive Asian fusion cuisine along with specialty cocktails and a full bar. If it's warm out, try eating outside on their patio -- they're only open until 11 p.m. on the weekends, so take advantage before you head into a show or hit the bars.

4. The Hornet, 76 Broadway The Hornet was one of the first neighborhood joints on South Broadway, existing long before the bustle came along -- and it's still thriving today. Happy hour is 3-6 p.m. every day and continues after 10. With $3 microbrews and a kitchen that stays open until midnight, it's a good pick for the start of your evening or when your night starts winding down. If you're suffering from your night of debauchery, check out their $2 build-your-own Bloody Mary station the next morning.
3. Socorro's, 19 E. Bayaud St. The tiny kitchen at Socorro's yields some of the most authentic street tacos in Denver and seats about ten people, tops. The menu offerings have roots in New Mexican cuisine, with mouth-watering tortas and burritos. Socorro's is usually a one-man operation, so don't be surprised if you have to wait -- but it's worth every minute. Sit down if you can find a seat, or wander South Broadway, taco in hand.
2. Sputnik, 7 S. Broadway You can't get any easier than late-night food at Sputnik. It's located right next door to the hi-dive, and beyond beers and cocktails, they serve everything on the dinner menu until 1 a.m. If you're leaving a show or one of the many local bars, cozy up in one of the booths or squeeze into the bar for a house-made corn dog or Cubano sandwich. On top of all of that, it's also a great people watching environment.

El Diablo, 101 Broadway El Diablo serves up a mean Margarita -- and with a location only a few blocks away from the hi-dive, 3 Kings and the Skylark, it's a great place to grab tasty Mexican plates before or after the show. The place also boasts a startling selection of tequilas, some of the best margarita concoctions in the city, $1 happy hour tacos and free refills on Horchata. The kitchen is open until 1 a.m., but their late-night street food window is open until 4 a.m. For our money, this is one of the best places to hit up before or after a night on South Broadway.
