BICEP @ NORAD | SAT, 8/10/13 It's always heartwarming when a childhood friendship grows into something more, which is exactly what happened with Bicep (aka Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar). Currently based in London, the two spent their early years in Belfast, sneaking into nightclubs as soon as they were old enough to be convincing. Those forays exposed them to some big names spinning top-tier music.

In 2008, when college beckoned them to different parts of the globe, they started a blog called Feel My Bicep as a way to keep in touch with each other and a handful of other school friends. The blog, which began as an exploration of eclectic music from all over the place, now features tunes that are a lot like what Ferguson and McBriar play when they perform together: dance-driven music that skirts the house/techno dividing line and is so seamlessly integrated, you'd think the two men creating it were of one mind. Catch Bicep, which checked in at number 32 on Resident Advisor's list of Top 100 acts this year, this Saturday, August 10, at NORAD with Steofan. (9 p.m., 21+, $10 and up)
SBTRKT @ BETA | FRI, 8/9/13 SBTRKT brings a DJ set to Beta, which is pretty much just as fun as the live show, and you can bet there will be masks-a-plenty. Given that SBTRKT is all about masking identity to avoid the fame and recognition, it's difficult to imagine just how someone can create something so beautiful and not want to claim the fame for it. The music is worldly with solid drums, and could easily soundtrack a swanky lounge, or in this case, a big room club with a dance floor full of sweating dancers. YOLANDA BE COOL @ NORAD | FRI, 8/9/13 Locally, Savoy really shed some light on Yolanda Be Cool with a remix of "We No Speak Americano." Enviable exposure aside, Yolanda Be Cool more than holds its own with its original island style dance beats. The act's sound is horn heavy, almost like a modern take on the big bands, and when the vocals come in, you'll swing your hips like it's 1940. When Yolanda Be Cool is on the speakers, you don't need to ask permission to get down. Catch Yolanda Be Cool with option4 at NORAD. (9 p.m., 21+, $10-$15) -- Chester

Bar Standard brings you the first-ever Denver appearance of WhiteNoize, courtesy of Denver Disco's efforts to showcase disco sound in a party atmosphere. (9 p.m., 21+, $5-$10)
City Hall hosts a Summer Safari with DJs Tanastadi, Trak Trix and Es Chinorey wrapping up the heat. (7 p.m., all ages, $10-$20)

Dirtybird resident Eats Everything headlines Beta with support from Mike McCray, Marshall Monica and Reed Tribou. (9 p.m., 18+, $10)
