Alright, so we realize we're kind of cheating by featuring this one in the Denver Boot, but the link got passed along to us and we were at this show and can attest that it's fully worth downloading. Our buddy Jon Snodgrass, he of Drag the River, Armchair Martian and just plain awesomeness, sent a note out earlier this week with an invitation to download his set from the hi-dive, which was recorded two years ago. It was the first "solo" show he ever really played, he reports, and a few of the tracks he played that night ended up on Visitor's Band. Originally the recordings were only available on cassette tape (which has since sold out, BTW), but now thanks to the wonders of digital technology you can download a copy of your very own, both side one and side two, to add to the electronic listening device of your choosing.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
