Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

Tonight is one of those nights you wish you could be multiple places at once. Over at the Bluebird, Hot IQs are hosting their combined video premier and record release party with Young Coyotes, the Chain Gang of 1974 and Team Firefox. (Stream both songs from the  7-inch and view the promo videos after the jump.) Over at 3 Kings Tavern, the titans of metal, Cephalic Carnage, Enemy Reign, Dead Speak and Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire, are teaming up for a benefit for Andrew Sawyer. And that, as they say, is just the tip of the iceberg.

At Bender's Tavern, meanwhile, Satan's Host joins Workhorse, Goddamn and the Angry Hand of God. And there's also a stellar bill at the hi-dive featuring the Jim Jims, the Rouge, the Still City and Pop Wreck. The Meadowlark hosts Ego vs Id, Lions the Brave, Gloam and Action Friend, and down the street at the Larimer Lounge mayhem is sure to ensue when Forth Yeer Freshman stops by with Holley 750, the Dropskots and the Super Eights. Thank God it's Friday! -- Dave Herrera

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
