So we've been raving about A Shoreline Dream since first hearing the act and speaking with Ryan Policky almost two and a half years ago, and we continue to be impressed by these guys as whole. We absolutely love the music, and we sincerely admire their truly DIY approach to getting their music heard. Shrewd moves on their part such as aligning itself with Paste and Filter Magazines and Urban Outfitters have resulted in nods in Urb's Next 100 issue last spring and positive notices in pubs like Wired. Besides all that, though, the group puts on a hell of a live show. And with tonight being the outfit's big night, the release of Recollections of Memory, its latest, we have a couple pairs of tickets up for grabs so you can see it for yourself. Drop us a line before 2 p.m. and you'll be in the running when we pick a couple winners at random.
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
