Man, rock and roll really is dying, isn't it? Or at the future of it is. Just received some rather disheartening news that the almighty WOXY.com, the finest station this side of KEXP, has suspended its live broadcasts indefinitely as of today due to a lack of funding.
Besides the fact, that WOXY has a demonstrated history of adventurous programming, which we now stand to lose, news of the Austin-by-way-of-Cincinnati station's financial hardship hits even harder for local music fans who've come to know the site through its association with Monolith, the annual indie rock festival, whose own future is uncertain due to recent financial difficulties. Here's to hoping one of us hits Powerball soon or something, so we can help keep these beloved institutions going.
