American Idol auditions: It's all over but the regrets

Yesterday's American Idol auditions took place out of the view of local news cameras, in order to save the good, the bad and the ugly for the talent contest's next season of broadcasts. But that didn't stop pros and amateurs alike from trying to document the hoopla. Click "Continue" to see coverage by Channel 31, the local Fox affiliate, which reveals that Mykal Hudson, much-ballyhooed winner of the Denver Idol pre-show competition, didn't receive a golden ticket. Also on view: A whopping six videos put together by a YouTuber known as The North Sider, whose clips come complete with thought bubbles. For example, a shot of an antsy-looking TV correspondent is accompanied by the phrase, "Even reporters have to go to the restroom."

Where they probably look themselves in the mirror and wonder if this whole media career thing was such a good idea after all....
