The DNC is over, but that doesn’t mean politics has left Denver. If you’re still jonesing for a taste of Obamamania, head over to Santa Fe Drive, where his spirit lives large in a yoga studio. Öm Time, which happens to be located next door to the state Democratic Party headquarters, is holding periodic OmBama yoga classes from now until the November election. The idea, says studio founder Shannon Paige Schneider, is more about promoting positive energy than politics. Classes focus on themes of change, hope and courage. Really, it’s as if Obama stole his slogans straight from the gurus.
"We do it not necessarily because we’re endorsing a man, but because we’re endorsing a movement," Schneider says.
The next OmBama class is scheduled for this Saturday at noon in the studio at 773 Santa Fe Drive, Denver. For information, visit Öm Time’s website. -- Lisa Rab
