Conner Cordova's fifteen minutes have begun.

The Dakota Ridge High School student launched a YouTube campaign to convince UFC ring girl and smokin' hot piece of feminine pulchritude Arianny Celeste to join him as his date at DR's spring dance -- and damn it if his persistence and beyond-his-years understanding of mutually beneficial publicity didn't pay off.

Celeste said "yes," and during an appearance on Lopez Tonight earlier this week, she even mimed making out with him when not plugging her upcoming Maxim cover in May. That's likely to be the closest Cordova will come to scoring at the dance, which takes place this Saturday, since an Inside Edition crew is reportedly scheduled to be on hand for the date. Then again, that show does like to air sex tapes...

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
