But now, his wonderful whiskers are getting national exposure in the Washington Post and NHL TV, as well as local love from the Coloradoan, the newspaper in his current home of Fort Collins.

Brooks's latest follicle design was intended as a tribute to the Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin -- hence the "O" shape around the superstar's number eight. A photo of him sporting the look at this past Sunday's game between the Caps and the Avs quickly made the rounds, with the Washington Post actually publishing a profile of him. He shows off the article in this photo from his Facebook page:
The beard also prompted plenty of hilarious commentary on NHL Live. We've got that clip below, along with a memorable video shared in conjunction with the Coloradoan's article about Brooks, who currently makes his living as an assistant brewer at Black Bottle Brewery -- although we definitely think a reality show could be in his future.Until then, here are more shots of Brooks and his beard, which demonstrate the many things that can be done with that much hair.
