Who put the "international" in Denver International Airport? Not just the Martians living in those underground tunnels at DIA. Next May, Icelandair will introduce non-stop flights from Denver to Reykjavik, Iceland -- and the airline just launched a photo contest for two round-trip tickets on that inaugural flight, along with other prizes that would thaw even the coldest heart.

Icelandair Announces Denver Photo Contest
Quincy, MA, October 4, 2011 -- On May 11, 2012 Icelandair will launch nonstop service to Reykjavik, Iceland from Denver International Airport. In celebration, Icelandair is sponsoring a photo contest to send one lucky winner and a guest on the trip of a lifetime.
As part of the competition, Icelandair is searching for the best photo connecting The Mile High City to Iceland. Take a picture of yourself eating Skyr in front of Byers-Evans House or the Molly Brown House, flash some Icelandic Krónur in front of the Mint, or sport a Viking hat during a Denver Broncos game. Get creative and show some spirit for Icelandair's newest home, in Denver.
The Icelandair Denver photo competition is open to anyone that is 18 years or older with a current passport, and the winner of the photo contest will receive 2 round-trip tickets on Icelandair's inaugural flight from Denver International Airport to Iceland on May 11, 2012, 3 nights hotel at the Icelandair Hotel Loftleidir, a Blue Lagoon tour, and a Golden Circle tour.
Those interested in being a part of this exciting competition should post their best photo showing the link between Iceland and Denver on www.icelandair.us/denver Once all of the photos are online, get your friends, family, and everyone you possibly can to vote for your photo on www.icelandair.us/denver. Photo submissions will begin at 12:00 PM EST on October 4, 2011, with voting starting October 25, 2011 and ending November 8, 2011.
The photo with the most votes at 12:00 PM EST on November 8, 2011, pending approval, will be declared the winner
