Jared Polis, a former Westword profile subject who's running for the House of Representatives from the second congressional district (Mark Udall's seat), faces the voters earlier than many candidates; an August 12 primary will determine whether he, Joan Fitz-Gerald or Will Shafroth will represent the Dems in the November election. With that in mind, he sent out an August 6 e-mail that encourages supporters to make their selection early, just as he did -- and he can only hope they get as much satisfaction out of backing him as he did when doing likewise. "I voted yesterday, and it was exciting to mark my name on the ballot," he writes. "Finally, a candidate I agree with 100% of the time!"
It's good to be the king. -- Michael Roberts
