The ridiculous feud between Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler and new head coach Josh McDaniels finally seemed to have achieved clarity on Tuesday night, when team owner Pat Bowlen issued a statement declaring his intention to trade Sweet Baby Jay. But what to make of statements Cutler made to FoxSports.com last night? "I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," he said. "I didn't want to get traded. This wasn't me. (The Broncos) had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn't... I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."
Okay, fine. Good to know. But there were at least three ways Cutler could have helped prevent this turn of events:
1. He could have returned the team's phone calls. 2. He could have returned the team's texts. 3. He could have thought twice before calling ESPN in March and saying he wanted the Broncos to trade him.
Does this guy even know what he wants? He makes Brett Favre seem like the most decisive man on earth...
