Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Mere hours ago, gunfire erupted near 22nd and Arapahoe, injuring one man.
Fortunately, he's expected to survive -- but he wasn't able to provide much assistance to Denver police when it comes to tracking down the person who shot him. Photos and more details below.

At this writing, the Denver Police Department hasn't tweeted or issued a press release about the incident. Instead, the first news of what went down comes from 7News photojournalist Pete Burd. Here's one of his tweets from the scene:

The shooting was first reported at around 3 a.m., with the station noting that the intersection where it took place is only a few blocks from Coors Field.
Streets were closed nearby in the immediate aftermath of the flying lead. As for the suspect, no description has been circulated thus far. But the victim reportedly didn't recognize him. If and when the DPD provides more information, we'll update this post.
