Our latest post about the startling Ryan Stone car chase featured local officials justifying the pursuit even after the child with the suspect was safe. The vast majority of our readers strongly agreed authorities did the right thing -- but one reader was more cautious based on the experience of a loved one.

Shauna Stenzel writes:

I have mixed feelings on high speed chases. My mom was T-boned by a cop car that was involved in one years ago. The Denver cops didn't do jack shit for her and she only had liability insurance so she was stuck without a car and no way or money to get one! SO I think if it is going to endanger innocent bystanders then it IS NOT worth it!
