Our post about East High students' counter-protest against Westboro Baptist Church picketers noted how thoughtfully participants considered their response to the infamous congregation of haters. One reader concedes that she probably couldn't have managed to do likewise.

Jennster writes:

Good for these kids! They not only got to see the First Amendment in action, but they were far more civil and positive than I would have been. I have met WBC members before, including F*ck-pile Freddie, and I try to avoid being around them as I feel that my temper/emotions get the best of me, and that's what they want. I want to commend those kids for having the self-control that I do not have.
