Reader: I'm fine with the city paying millions for excessive-force lawsuits

Our post about a $5 million lawsuit filed against the City of Denver after a deputy slammed an inmate into a courtroom wall provoked an eruption of commentary about the tax dollars being spent to settle such cases. This reader had an unusual take on such outlays.

I feel fine about taxpayers funding these sorts of payouts. Eventually, taxpayers will get tired of paying out, and will demand changes in the government they allow. Until then, they've allowed this. Dig deep, taxpayers.
