Things to Do

Today's featured events: Tommy can't hear you, but you can hear Tommy, tonight at La Rumba

Not every band in town would take on the Who's Tommy in its entirety, regardless of the cause. But Instant Party, a group that's partly peopled by members of the Physically Handicapped Actors and Musical Artists League and partly by local ringers, will not only bite off every bit of Tommy and leave it well-chewed, but it will do so with the enthusiasm typical of any PHAMALy production. It all happens tonight at La Rumba as a preamble to the club's usual Lipgloss dance party, with proceeds going to benefit the fine PHAMALy troupe.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails and British Beat spins by Lipgloss DJ Tyler "Danger" Jacobson until 7 p.m., when the two-hour main event commences. And if you've still got an ounce of wind in your sails after that, all attendees are invited to remain for Lipgloss proper with no additional cover. Admission is $10 ($20 VIP); reserve in advance at PHAMALy's website or call 303-575-0005 for details.
