Are you in-the-moment, always on top of the wave, quick with your thumbs and have a good heart? Expect a full-blown multi-media event when local Twitterers gather to join others around the world for Twestival, a night to benefit Charity: Water, an organization that funds clean water projects in Africa, India and other third-world locations. From 6 to 9 p.m. at the Fox and Hound Smokehouse Tavern, 5150 E. Arapahoe Road, Littleton, Front Range Twitterers will learn more about the charity through live blogging and video while enjoying the restaurant's fare and participating in an auction and raffle.
Don't be a twit, be a Twitterer -- a socially conscious one. Admission is $10, all of which goes to the charity. Go to the local Twestival website for details and to register for this event, or log on to Twestival's main site for general information or to find other local Twitter tie-ins.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
