Help people affected by the Colorado wildfires You don't need more than $10 to do some good for those affected by the wildfires spreading across the state, so before you go out and do anything fun, do something to help. Whether it's a small financial contribution, donating household items or simply giving time, helpnowcolorado.org has plenty of ways you can make a difference.

We're Not Open Yet Dance Party at Nooch Vegan Market (Friday, by donation) Nooch Vegan Market hasn't yet opened, but that doesn't mean it can throw a killer dance party. The market will provide the city with an all-vegan food, local produce and clothing shop; it just met its Kickstarter goal, and now is raising more funds with a party. Groove to the tunes of DJ Brian Polk, purchase vegan snacks, and donate to make this store a reality in Denver.

New Belgium Clips of Faith at Twenty Ninth Streetin Boulder (Friday, free) The reward of these long, hot days is that they create pleasantly warm nights, which you can take full advantage of tonight at the third round of New Belgium's outdoor film festival. Drink beer provided by New Belgium (of course) and watch a series of independent short films while you enjoy the weather (for a change).

The Grawlix Episode 17 at The Bug Theatre (Friday, $10) The Grawlix has been out of town for a while, putting on comedy shows for audiences in Seattle and Los Angeles, but Episode 17 will be back in Denver. Enjoy hilarious comedy from Karl Hess, Kevin O'Brien, a secret guest who hails from New York -- and, of course, the latest episode of the web series featuring the Nix Brothers.

Stacey Pullen at NORAD (Saturday, $10) A great bet for a dance party is this Detroit DJ's appearance tonight along with DJ Sense, Andrew Kevens, Ejay, Ivy and Bones. The popular DJ is sure to get folks onto the floor with his groundbreaking techno mixes that will help you celebrate the summer with movement and lots of sweat.

3 Ring Weekend at Copper Mountain Resort (Friday-Sunday, free) If you're looking to the mountains as relief from the heat, Copper Mountain has a weekend full of fun events. Whether you're watching music from Spin Cycle and DJ Laundry, a screening of the film Hoot, or participating in physical activities ranging from rock climbing to bungee jumping, and more, you're sure to have a great time outside the city.

Justice League Factory Party at the Denver Design District (Saturday, free) The Justice League of Street Food really is the superhero team of food trucks and carts, and they'll unite at a party tonight to provide Denverites with tons of great eats to choose from. Pick from Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs, the Denver Pie Truck, Yatai Hand-Rolled Sushi and nine more mobile vendors, and then join in a chalk-art contest on the street. It's sure to be an appetizing evening.

Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge at City Park (Saturday, free) In need of a pick-me-up? There's no better cure for depression than sunshine and adorable animals. Rather than sitting inside watching videos on YouTube all day, go out and see the real thing at the park. Watch as dogs compete in events from diving to relays and cheer on the canine cuties.

Beauty Bar 2nd Anniversary at Beauty Bar (Saturday, free) Beauty Bar has been in Denver for two years, and that's definitely a reason to celebrate. Drink signature cocktails, watch video DJ sets from Peanut Butter Wolf and dance, of course. And rejoice in the fact that you can drink a martini and get a manicure all in one place.

Covey, Lin Short, Ware & Vogel Read Poems at Counterpath (Sunday, free) After a weekend filled with dancing and debauchery, it's always nice to take in something a little more thoughtful. And Counterpath consistently brings in a range of diverse poets who give exciting readings -- all for free! This week's installment features touring authors Bruce Covey and Kim Gek Lin, as well as Joshua Ware and Danielle Vogel.
