Prisons, Compassion and Redemption Project at the Jewish Community Center and Greek Orthodox Metropolis Cathedral of Denver (Wednesday and Thursday, free) Dead Man Walking,Sister Helen Prejean's eyewitness account of the death penalty, has been a book, movie and play, and the Jake Heggie opera will be produced at Central City. In advance of that production, Central City Opera has created the Prisons, Compassion and Redemption Project that includes a screening of the movie Dead Man Walking on Wednesday, March 12 at the Wolf Theatre in the Jewish Community Center; Sister Helen Prejean will be there to sign her book. And on Thursday, March 13, there will be a panel on the death penalty featuring lawyers, judges and more. at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
