The first annual Winter Teva Mountain Games went down this weekend at Vail, and some of the first video edits are already popping up. Not surprisingly, the flashiest are from the Telemark Big Air & Biking Best Trick contests. Chad Kagy -- a BMX star best known for dominating events like the X Games and Dew Tour -- proved he can hold his own on a mountain bike, too, beating out Mike Montgomery and Sam Pilgrim to top the podium in the Teva Best Trick Bike competition. It was apparently the first mountain bike competition Kagy had ever entered. Check out the club-thumpin' pyrotechnics-blazin' edit from Pinkbike.com:

Other cycling events with less viral video potential included Dual Slalom Bike (Kyle Ebbett, Aaron Chase, and Winter Park rider Petr Hanak took the podium) and an On-Snow Bike Crit that happened to feature all Colorado riders in both the female and male divisions (Tamara Donelson, Amy Hermes, and Cait Boyd came out on top in the women's race; Tim Allen, Greg Krause, and Brady Kappius held the top spots in the men's race).

The Vail Daily edit of the Big Air event is more straightforward and also shows some Telemark Big Air highlights. Tele Big Air? Yep, that's a thing now. Avon local Christopher Ewart won it, sharing the podium with Jeremy Clark and Kjell Ellefson.

Other ski events included Nordic Freestyle 5K and 10K races, Ski Mountaineering, and the Vail Uphill. There were also 5K and 10K X-Country Snowshoe Races and a "multi-run" event called the Ultimate Mountain Challenge. For full weekend results visit TevaMountainGames.com.

The Vail Valley Foundation's tenth annual Summer Teva Mountain Games is scheduled for May 31-June 3, 2012.
