Looking ahead to the citywide Create Denver arts blowout in May, the Downtown Denver Partnership and Denver Theatre District are teaming up to put the work of some Denver digital media artists up in lights -- really big ones -- on the giant outdoor LED screen at 14th and Champa streets at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

And the call is out: The coalition is seeking submissions of original motion-based works of 15 to 60 seconds in length for the May 13 program, MASS MEDIA: Seeing, Making, Mapping, which includes a symposium, a reception and a big public screening in the streets, which will also include DOCA-sponsored video mapping projections on the surrounding building walls. "Three Love Songs," Matthew Weinstein in Blink!, Denver Art Museum.

And then go for it. Entries must be formatted to the DPAC screen's specifications and submitted by April 22 with a $10 entry fee, contact information and bio to: DTD Frame of Mind, c/o Plus Gallery, 2501 Larimer Street, Denver CO 80205. Then, include a CD/DVD with the entry or e-mail the completed digital files to [email protected] with "Frame of Mind" in the subject line. And wait. Notifications will be made by May 1, and the top juried submission wins a $250 cash prize. Artists, begin digitizing...
