Denver Museum of Nature & Science Free for Furloughed Federal Workers

Furloughed federal workers may not be able to afford rent, but they can see dinosaur bones for free.

Remember the dinosaurs? Ancient mummies? When we had elected officials who didn't play chicken with the lives of government workers and try to bully members of the other party into passing pet projects?

There's little comfort for furloughed federal workers living paycheck to paycheck, facing creditors and unpaid landlords if they can't find a way to pay the bills. Their days, once full of public service, are now spent wondering when they can finally go back to work.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is doing what it can to make their lives a little easier, offering free admission to any furloughed federal worker and a guest through January 31.

All they have to do is show up at the museum with their government IDs in hand.

While these public servants may still be worried about having a roof over their head, they can at least escape their reality for a bit and think about a better time — when Tyrannosaurus Rex roamed the earth, wielding its power with more restraint than the current commander-in-chief.
