Late last week, the Denver Art Museum let the crazy dancers out of the bag: The DAM announced that fifteen out of 120 hopefuls who auditioned for artist Nick Cave last month will perform in Cave's fantastical Soundsuits in June, alongside dancers from local professional troupes.

And the winners are:

- Mary Bliss - Laura Burchard - Matthew Creery - Phaedra Eason - Chanel Godwin-McMaken - Heidi Kleder - Marcy Mitchell - Jordan Parman - Markus Ramirez - Liesel Schmidt - Casey Shivers - Mitch Slevc - Emma Thomas - Jessica Troppmann - Haruna Tsuchiya

And here's what they'll suit up to do, in conjunction with the exhibit, Nick Cave: Sojourn, which opens at the DAM on June 9:

Being chosen is no small honor, as DAM spokeswoman Ashley Pritchard notes: "The participants shimmied and shook, jumped and jived; they donned legwarmers, sweatbands, a Chewbacca mask and even a security uniform. The enthusiasm and energy were amazing."
