5) Denver Botanic Gardens 8500 West Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton This year at the Chatfield outpost of the Denver Botanic Gardens, an eight-acre corn maze emulates the Colorado flag; it's a challenging design with a labyrinth in the center. While adventure-seekers weave their way through the acres of corn, more timid visitors can watch others on their quest from two, fifteen-foot tall illuminated bridges that overlook the maze. For younger kids, there's a scaled-down mini maze. The Chatfield maze is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, then closes for the season. 4) Colon Orchards 3175 Grandview Avenue, Canon City This fourth-generation farm is located in the heart of the Arkansas River Valley, and features both a five-acre maze on the orchard and a ten-acre maze called the Abbey Maze located next to the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey. The Abbey Maze is open Saturday and Sunday, and the five-acre orchard maze is open today through October 27. 3) Anderson Farms 6728 County Road 3-1/4, Erie Anderson Farms' annual "Terror in the Corn" is the longest-running corn maze in Colorado -- and as Colorado's only haunted hayride and ghost town, Terror in the Corn is a multi-attraction Halloween delight. The terrifying maze is home to a host of frightening creatures and has new tricks every year, including a Zombie Land Cemetary, Head Hunter Barber Shop, One Eyed Jack's Saloon, Looney Bin and a Cabin in the Woods. Open daily through November 2. 2) Fritzler Corn MAiZE 20861 CR 33, LaSalle One of Colorado's largest corn-maze destinations, Fritzler Corn MAiZE offers a variety of activities, including the Alcorntraz/Zombie Slayer Paintball Adventure and the scares of Scream Acres. In addition to making their way through the elaborate bald eagle maze, visitors can see the design from above on a helicopter ride, or try the interactive ghost haunt through an abandoned ghost town. Open Wednesday-Sunday through November 3. 1) Miller Farms 13912 CR 19, Platteville Miller Farms' Haunted Adventure opened when a mysterious swamp monster took residence in the cornfields after dark -- and every night after dusk, visitors can expect a sighting. The Haunted Adventure and Fall Harvest Festival, which includes the corn maze, runs every day through October 31. As added incentive to get out there, half of the proceeds this year are going to Colorado flood victims.
