No matter how secure you might be with single life, Valentine’s Day always reminds you that one can be a lonely number. Rather than hosting a solo marathon of every season of Grey’s Anatomy with a two liter of Riunite California Red and a box of chocolate you bought for yourself, celebrate your single life at one of these five lovely events taking place in Denver on Valentine’s Day — no date required.

5)  Mardi Gras Masquerade

The Denver Metro Social Club doesn’t care about Valentine’s Day — since it’s February, celebrate Mardi Gras! This second annual masquerade features contortionists, body paint and aerial dancers hanging from the ceiling of the Watering Bowl. General admission tickets are $15, but the $50 all-you-can-drink tickets will have you forgetting that anyone is celebrating a Hallmark holiday. Click here for tickets or more information. And don’t forget: Masks are required.

4) My Funky Valentine

If you’re in the mood to really treat yourself, My Funky Valentine at the Exdo Event Center is a lovely option. Small plates from some of Denver’s best chefs and unlimited alcohol samplings from Colorado vendors make this bash worth the price of a $45 ticket. The ‘70s-themed event includes a concert by Eddie Roberts’ West Coast Sounds (concert-only tickets are available for $20). For more information or to purchase tickets, click here. Bonus: You can nominate a friend to be chosen for a date in front of the entire audience.

3) Anti-Valentine’s Day at the ViewHouse

If you find yourself in the Ballpark neighborhood this Saturday, head to the ViewHouse for an Anti-Valentine’s Day party. Starting at 9 p.m., everybody will be toasting with alcohol rather than presenting flowers and chocolate. ViewHouse favorite DJ Squirt will provide beats for the night, and the only cost for admission is a normal Saturday night cover charge.

2) 5th Annual Single’s Day Soiree

Being single always looks good when free shots and naked sushi are involved, right? The 5th Annual Single's Day Soiree kicks off at 9:30 p.m. at Epernay Lounge. You can enjoy free shots and a shot luge from Party Guru Productions all night, just in case you’re not just there to eat sushi from a naked model’s body. Tickets are only $15 for men and $10 for women, and can be purchased here.  As an added bonus, ladies get two-for-one on admission if you purchase tickets before Saturday.

1) Valentine’s Day Bar Crawl

There’s no way around this: If you're single, getting drunk may be the best way to get through Valentine’s Day. Play Mile High is organizing this Valentine's Day Bar Crawl, which kicks off at Blake Street Tavern at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $10 through Friday, or $15 on Saturday. Each bar on the route features drink specials, costume contests and raffle prizes, including a $100 bar tab. Denver Bar Cart will give away a night-on-the-town package to the best costume at the end of the evening; since there are no rules, feel free to wear that Sailor Moon costume you thought you wouldn't use until Comic Con in May. Click here for tickets.
