"Popcorn classics on the big screen is kind of how we dubbed it," says David Kimball, senior regional publicist for Landmark. "There's no one general theme to the series. Each manager at each of the three theaters picked films that they knew their loyal guests would appreciate, the hardcore regulars, but also taking into consideration the neighborhood each of these theaters are in. [Each theater] has a different tone with their selections. They're individual slices of film we think people will really enjoy seeing."
The series starts today at the Esquire with Lawrence of Arabia. The following seven weeks will bring such classics as The Sound of Music, Giant and Citizen Kane. After that, the series shifts over to Chez Artiste for eight weeks with a run that includes Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, On the Waterfront, and The Sting, before wrapping up with eight weeks at the Mayan with a selection still to be determined. All films show at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the listed day only, and tickets for each showing are $8.50. For tickets and more information, visit the Denver Landmark Theatres website.
