There's nothing stuffy about Adam Lerner, whose whimsical yet intellectual sensibility propels everything that happens at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, where he's the museum's director and "Chief Animator." The same goes for his annual holiday message to MCA visitors, supporters and friends. This year's greeting, entitled "Caffeinated History," is out and causing a stir on the Internet.

Meanwhile, MCA's not through with dealing whimsy in 2013: Beginning today at 5 p.m., the museum will present Twelve and a Half Days of XMas LIVE, featuring performances in the atrium by a hand-picked roster of, er, unusual acts, from tonight's go-go dancing burlesque by Gigi D'Lovely to the Ukulele Social Club on January 5.
