The outdoor screenings will feature family-friendly films, themed entertainment and Colorado craft brews for moms and dads. First up is The Muppets, during which Alamo will encourage people to sing along with the songs in the movie. But before that happens, Muppet characters will parachute into the shopping center. >Movie Madness
"That will be exciting," says Alamo's Denver franchisee, Tom DeFrancia. "We are really trying to make this an Alamo type of event."
Movie-goers can also have their picture taken with their favorite Muppet puppet in a photo booth and donate a stuffed animal to Loving Hugs, a nonprofit that provides stuffed animals to children in war zones and in poverty; adults, meanwhile, can get a beer from Avery Brewing in return for a $2 donation to the organization.
Future movies during the series include: Pirates of the Caribbean on June 20; Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on June 27; Annie on July 11 and Real Steel on July 25. Each features beer and some sort of wacky contest or entertainment.
Doors to each showing open at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at sundown. Admission is free, and food will be available for purchase at the shopping center. Bring your own chair. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/AlamoDenver.
