After Airports Council International, which puts together the conference, learned about Now Boarding, it sent Fentress an invitation to participate. The theme of this year's conference is "Airports 2020" and Now Boarding was a perfect fit, since a large part of the exhibition focuses on the future of airport design.
Fentress Architects sent over portions of the exhibit for the Amsterdam conference, focusing on the airports that Fentress has designed around the world, as well as the firm's conceptual drawings of airports of the future. The conference ends tomorrow -- but Fentress's designs will live on.
"Starting with Denver International Airport, which opened in 1995, our firm has been at the forefront of rethinking the airport experience," Fentress says. "We're thrilled to have Denver Art Museum's exhibition of our work featured at this conference. It highlights not only the firm, but Denver's place as an important center for design."
