A sick dog inspired the founding of Only Natural Pet, which just opened a new store in Greenwood Village, the third in the Colorado-based company.

“The owner, Marty Grosjean, had a sick dog in 2002,” explains Joanie Nelson, head of marketing for Only Natural Pet. “So he enlisted the help of a holistic veterinarian and she developed all of our food and supplements." In 2004, Grosjean introduced his first store in Boulder, selling the company's own products as well as other high-quality brands.

"We carry supplements for dogs so sometimes you don’t even have to go to a veterinarian. You can come here, and we can help you solve some problems with your pets," says Nelson. “We carry only food-grade or human-grade food for cats and dogs."

Besides stocking a wide variety of pet foods and supplements, Only Natural Pet offers bathing and grooming supplies. At this new location, you can check your pet into the Groomery for a full-on “spaw” experience, but if time and money are a consideration, the location has a self-service dog wash as well, where no appointment is  necessary.

Only Natural Pet has scheduled a variety of special events at the new location through December, including a visit from North Pole Poet Laureate Amy Marschak and sessions with pet caricaturists. Only Natural Pet also holds regular adoption events for cats that have been rescued and given a full veterinary checkup.

The new store is located at 5900 South University Boulevard in Greenwood Village; there's also a location in Aspen. For more information on Only Natural Pet events, go to the Only Natural Pet Facebook page or call 303-993-1000.
