Peach and Pepper Designer Allison Ruchaber Spotted at Denver Style Anniversary Party

On January 21, Denver Style celebrated its one-year anniversary at the Nativ Hotel in LoDo. Amidst all the stylish and chic people in attendance, a woman with a  striking silhouette and blue hat caught our attention — and camera lens. Womenswear designer Allison Ruchaber owns her own Denver-based apparel line, Peach and Pepper; we stopped to chat with her about the inspirations behind her design and her personal style. 
Ruchaber was wearing black, wide-leg, high-waisted trousers by Peach and Pepper. She offset the black in her outfit with a textured, cream-colored jacket from Anthropology and blue-hued shoes and hat. The hat is from Shea Clothing Boutique. Keep reading for more from Ruchaber:
Favorite color: "I really love a bright, cobalt blue and I love radiant, orchid purple. I really love a wine color too, like a Merlot."  Favorite accessory: "I wear these Lily and Laura bracelet s every day. All day. They come in many colors, and I like to mix and match them."

Style mantra: "One of my favorite quotes that I live by is 'fashion is what you buy and style is what you do with it.' I love to design clothes for people and see them style the pieces in their own way, to make them their own. My style is modern bohemian. I love hats and flowy pieces." 

Shops at: "Free People, Anthropology.  I do some bargain shopping at Nordstrom Rack for standout pieces. I try to wear something that I designed every day." 

These indigo wedges are Lanvin and were a gift from Ruchaber's husband.
"Comfort is key for me and I try to pick really soft fabrics," she says. "That's why I like soft, flowy ones. I believe that fashion should look good and be easy to wear." Ruchaber designs for herself first and foremost, she adds, but  mixes in other brands like Lanvin and Anthropology effortlessly, creating her own style.
