The Cirque du Soleil model seems calculatedly designed to turn you around by the time the show ends, no matter how cynical you thought you were when it started: Its startling spectacle -- from the beautiful costumes and lighting to the way it celebrates the incredible strength of the human body -- just sucks up an audience, which cannot believe it's seeing a slew of human beings tossed up in the air and caught again lightly like so many sacks of flour or a jump rope turning so fast that it becomes a moving picture of itself.

Quidam follows the formula seamlessly, couched in the story of a little girl's dream, and you won't be disappointed with its acrobatic pyrotechnics and whimsy. Currently at the 1STBANK Center through Sunday, November 11, Quidam then moves to the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland for a run from November 14 to 18.
