The evening was planned before that embarrassing episode when a woman defaced a $30 million painting there. The rest of the works on display remain in tip-top shape, though, and there's no better way to look at them than with director and curator Dean Sobel.
Throughout the evening, you'll have access to the museum's Conservation Studio, where conservator James Squires will speak on the issues and surprises that come with maintaining a sizable collection. Sobel's tour begins after remarks at 6:45 p.m.; at 7:15 p.m., facilities manager David Finch will fill you in on the building's tailored, organic design. Admission is free with the regular gate fee of $3 to $10.
