Aspen wraps up its 10th Annual Spring Jam this weekend with Schneetag on Saturday at Snowmass and the Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls at Aspen Highlands on Sunday.

Schneetag will feature four-person teams performing skits in silly costumes then propelling designated pilots down Spider Sabich in sliding/skimming machines for a pond-skimming leap into the drink at the bottom, and should promise sheer spectacle. In exchange for all human dignity, the Schneetag teams will be competing for prizes including a trip to the Summer X Games in Los Angeles, tickets to a professional sporting event in Denver, and skis or snowboards from High Society.

The Helly Hansen Battle of the Bowls pits GPS-equipped two-person teams against each other in a race to ski or ride the assigned course all over the Aspen Highlands bowls over the course of the day, with Competitive Ski, Competitive Snowboard, and Non-competitive divisions. The course for the competitive categories includes hike to the summit of Highlands Bowl (Dory Pole), the Rock Outcrop Gate, and the Canopy Cruiser Gate, and runs in Highlands Bowl, Steeplechase, No Name Bowl, Olympic Bowl, Moment of Truth, Thunder Bowl, and Powder Bowl. This one's not for the meek: Last year's winning time was 3hrs 3mins 2seconds.
