Ten Things to Do in Denver for $10 or Less (Five Free), June 17-19

All of Denver will be up and out this weekend, at events ranging from Denver Comic Con to PrideFest. It's a time to celebrate all cultures, and to learn a lot more about some of them. Here are our ten favorite events that each cost $10 or less; go to the Westword calendar for even more entertainment options.

Denver Greek Festival

From baklava to spanakopita, from maleviziotikos dancing to Greek markets, the Denver Greek Festival is Greek to us this weekend. Lookout Club
MCA Denver
6 p.m. Friday, $5
The Lookout Club at the MCA is a classy affair that also happens to be a lot of fun. Get down with your DJs for the night, Justin Cudmore and Ryan Scannura, while guest bartenders from Williams & Graham mix up those happy-hour cocktails. Art, beats and the perfect rooftop patio add up to a great start for the weekend.
iBody Denver Grand Opening

Denver dance teacher Dana Hood has created the studio of her dreams, and iBody Inspired Movement will host an open-house celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. today. In advance of regular classes starting Monday, the Wash Park/Platt Park fitness studio will offer a number of free classes on Saturday and Sunday, including Journey Dance, several styles of yoga, Feldenkrais and other movement practices. DATM's Hangout with Kathie and Brandt

It's Denver Comic Con weekend, and while that gathering is out of our price range, this free event will get you up close and personal with Brandt Peters and Kathie Olivas, designers of Kidrobot toys. At the hangout (feel free to bring beer), you can also take a peek at their new coloring book and art show. 

Astronomy Nights
CU South Denver
8 p.m. Friday, $8
We live in a big world — some even call it an endless universe — and tonight we have a chance to learn a little more about it. Retired astronomy professor Win Pendleton will show you how to figure out just how big the universe is by using basic geometry, simple candles and a couple other tools. And you get to learn all this while eating hot, gooey s'mores. The series continues through the summer.

Hi-Dive Hullabaloo

Starting 8:30 p.m. Friday, through Saturday, $10
The hi-dive is hosting a garage-fest all weekend. Local bands like Ned Garthe Explosion, Best Creeps, Major Sports and many more will rock, drink beer and dance until they're soaking wet. It's $10 a night, so pick your lineup and get ready to make merry.  

Blowpony! Denver Pride Weekend Edition

If you want to get weird and wild this weekend, here's a place to do it legally. Famous partiers Hi Fashion and Rica Shay, along with plenty of DJs, will provide the musical stimulation for this dance explosion. Celebrate Pride and life in general at this shindig.  

Fancy Tiger Crafts 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

Yarn-knitters, cross-stitchers and craftheads of all kinds can thank Fancy Tiger for providing such a creative atmosphere over the past ten years. But Fancy Tiger is rewarding us on the occasion of its tenth anniversary by providing gift bags for the first 100 customers today; those who spend over $20 also get a limited-edition enamel pin. The exhibit Junegrass: A Colorado Yarn Project will debut, and food trucks will be outside all day. 
Denver PrideFest

PrideFest is a hallmark of the summer, a celebration of the fact that while we're all different, we're all human. Enjoy concerts, Dogs in Drag, dancing, food and all kinds of activities, and don't forget the parade from Cheesman on Sunday. Check out the website for a complete schedule.  
Denver Cherry Blossom Festival

Denver's Cherry Blossom Festival is another great Denver tradition. Participate in martial arts demos, taiko drumming, traditional dancing and so much more. Take a journey into Japaness culture with fun and food for the whole family.
