29th Annual Firefighter Chili Cook-Off
Larimer Square
11 a.m. Friday, free

Some like it hot!!! Firefighters from around the state will bring their best red and green chilis to Larimer Square for some heated competition. Denver Fire Local 858 hosts this annual party that, along with the main event, offers craft beer, music, local celebrity judges and those caliente Colorado Firefighter Calendar models. Proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, so grab a spoon and go. 
Denver Fashion Truck Grand Opening

5 p.m. Friday, free

That fashion truck has rolled around town for a while now, keeping us looking good. But for now the owners are done roaming: Today they'll open the doors of a brick-and-mortar shop, where you can browse the trends, get your tarot read, have a drink and enjoy the ambience. Support local — and congrats, Denver Fashion Truck. 

Untitled: Stop Motion
Denver Art Museum
6 p.m. Friday, $10

Timing is key, and the Untitled party is all about keeping it. While you saunter through the museum, hit pause and beatbox, breakdance, and join the freeze-frame workshops and dance workshops with Laura Ann Samuelson. This event is all about getting that body in motion, and the beat goes on. 
The Underground Stand Up Comedy Showcase featuring Jon Laster
The Soiled Dove Underground
8 p.m. Friday, free

Comedy from the underground welcomes Jon Laster back to town. This hometown hero now resides in Brooklyn, where he pumps out jokes with honesty and high energy. And he'll be bringing all that and more back to Denver, where he'll be joined by John ToleShayna Ferm and Kevin O'Brien.  
Super Bummer, The Outfit and Spirit Award
Syntax Physic Opera
9 p.m. Friday, $7

Hit Syntax tonight for all your live-music needs. Super Bummer keeps the grunge sound in surf rock, The Outfit gives you that old time rock and roll, and Spirit Award can carry you away on your dream cloud.

9 a.m. Saturday, free

One of the best local markets in town returns to its spot by Local 46. Peruse the treasures offered by local artists, designers, collectors and entrepreneurs, and don't miss that Björn’s Colorado Honey. Food trucks will be around if you get hungry, and there will be plenty of family-friendly activities as well. 
Pumpkin Harvest Festival
Four Mile Historic Park
10 a.m. Saturday, free

Most supermarkets stock plenty of modern fall treats, but at the Four Mile Historic Park, you can get a feel for how families in the 1800s enjoyed autumn. Make a scarecrow, pick out some pumpkins, dance a jig and take a horse-drawn ride around the site. Local vendors and food trucks will offer more treats; thanks to Copper Kettle Brewing, there will be a little beer garden for the 21-and-over crowd. 
Northside Wine and Music Festival
Bonacquisti Wine Company
2 p.m. Saturday, $10

Add Colorado to the list of fine winemakers in this country, and sip on the juice that Bonacquisti has been making in Denver for the last decade. For $10, you can grab a commemorative glass and up to five tastings of fine wine from around the state, while listening to the sounds of Gumbo le Funque and a Van Halen tribute band. Soak up some of that wine with wood-fired pizza from Tilford's. Cheers!

The Willary Pop-Up
Infinite Monkey Theorem
5 p.m. Saturday, free

The Willary makes super-functional clothing for women, and the goods will be rolling through RiNo at the Infinite Monkey for one day only. Usually when you shop with a  good buzz going, you're doing it online, but not today. Go say hey to all those functional pockets and happy-hour-priced wines.

It's part art show and part competition for a grip of cash. At this one-of-a-kind party, you can see custom-design stickers from folks like JOLT, Android Jones, Mike Fudge and many more. Royce 5'9",  DJ Low Key, Mixman and Sur Ellz will be providing the beats.
