Ironton's Annual Winter Solstice Party at Ironton Studios & Gallery (5:30 p.m. Monday, free)
It's been cold for a while now, but today winter starts for real. Celebrate the shortest day of the year at Ironton's annual Winter Solstice Party, where you can toss concerns of the past twelve months into a roaring fire, and share your hopes and dreams of the coming year with the crowd. Artists will also be sharing soups and stew, bread and hot spiced cider; guests are encouraged to bring their own contributions for the party, everything from booze and other special treats. Join the community to welcome the winter and new year.

Jay Returns and Plays Cool Boarders at The Deer Pile (8 p.m. Tuesday, free)
Entertain your guests comedy-nerd style at The Deer Pile tonight. During Video Games, hosts Jay Gillaspie and Roger Norquist will plug in the hottest game of Christmas 1996, Cool Boarders, and battle on the slopes with comedians like Isaac McGaha Miller, Jon Wilkins, Brent Gill and more. There will be Shasta soda to guzzle and goodies from Sexy Pizza and Denver Relief, so come flip out with these dudes.

Christmas Movie Night at Tavern Littleton (6:30 p.m. Wednesday, free)
Meet up with old friends at the Tavern in Littleton for free popcorn and movies: The Santa Clause and Christmas Story, which just celebrated its thirtieth birthday. That double dose of cheer should carry you through to Christmas in high spirits.
