Mother's Dream Quilt Project at The Oriental Theater (6:30 p.m. Tuesday, free)
Gun violence has become all too common, and that's why the group Moms Demand Action is taking action. Tonight the organization will host bring the community together at an event that features beautiful quilts made by mothers affected by tragedy, stories from mothers who lost children in the Aurora theater and Sandy Hook shootings, and a performance by Hazel Miller and Andy Sydow.

Story Time! at El Charrito (9 p.m. Tuesday, free)
Try not to let too many of these jokes go over your head: This is a one-liner show designed to keep you thinking. Comedians Matt Cobos, Cory Helie, Kira MagCalen, Byron Graham and Eric Henderson will join Matt Monroe as he tells saga of how he discovered the one-liner medium; Aaron Urist will headline.

Hitch Gallery Opening at Gateway Fun Park Parking Lot (7 p.m. Wednesday, free)
This is a bad-ass idea whose time has come. Instead of being tied to a brick-and-mortar space, Hitch Gallery is attached to the back of local artist Clay Hawkley’s 2006 Subaru. Hawkley will be the first to showcase work in this movable art space, but other artists are encouraged to submit show ideas for the simple cargo carrier as well. Although you could soon see Hitch rolling by you on the highway, you're guaranteed to catch it if you visit tonight's grand opening in the Gateway Fun parking lot.
