If poetry is, as writer J. Patrick Lewis described, "prose, bent out of shape," then Sandra and Ben Doller have made a career out of bending. This poet duo will bring its crooked prose to the University of Colorado at Boulder for a reading this evening that's sure to be full of the Dollers' creative wordplay and an audience of artsy Boulderites.

The San Diego couple are both acclaimed in the field: Ben Doller won the prestigious Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets, and Sandra founded and edits 1913, a literary journal and book press. Tonight, the poets will read from their respective books, which, with lines like "key thinky sevens wicked thumbrest, Chucky" will either have you furrowing your brow or impressing your date with your amazing poetry-comprehending abilities. The free reading is sponsored by the University of Colorado's Creative Writing program and starts at 7 p.m. in the Center for British and Irish Studies in Norlin M549, fifth floor.
