Best of Denver winner Whorl Shop, which teamed up with Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design on the successful FARMCAD, will launch its own private label, Imprints by Whorl, to be produced at RMCAD this fall. "We are so grateful for the continuous support we receive from our clients, business partners, friends and family," says boutique owner Megan Timlin. "To launch this exciting new venture, we need your help." Specifically, Whorl needs to raise $10,000 in an indiegogo campaign.

Imprints by Whorl will be a collection curated, designed and produced in Denver. "The inspiration for this brand stems from our clients' love of the shift dress and tailored, ready-to-wear pieces that easily transition from a day of work to a night of endless fun. With Indiegogo, we will be able to produce our first season, and continue to grow this brand and its various influential aspects," says Timlin. "The Whorl team is dedicated to constructing a well-made, fashion-forward label, and for us quality is essential. We have built a strong production team whose experiences in design, sourcing, pattern-making and production offer a talented mixture of industry professionals. Whether it’s creating flattering silhouettes, picking the most comfortable fabrics, or developing innovative ways to cut costs, we want this label to offer affordable luxury." Timlin is working closely with director of operations Michael Vasseur at both Whorl and on the new Imprints line.
"Supporting local fashion-industry professionals is a major part of the Whorl story, which is why we are producing this line just a few miles away from the shop. Our team will be cutting and sewing at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and will work closely with the RMCAD faculty and students to elevate Imprints and the Denver fashion community alike," says Timlin. "This Indiegogo campaign was created to help with the costs associated with completing and producing the first collection of Imprints." A non-profit for teenage girls named Fear Free will launch simultaneously with Imprints this fall; initial fundraising efforts will include silent auctions and community dinners that directly correlate with the private label launch.
"This will be Whorl's first time producing work at a larger scale," explains Timlin. "The designers have previously designed individual pieces for clients, so this Indiegogo campaign will put our new production model to the test. This campaign invites you to support Imprints by Whorl simply giving to the cause and also offers the unique opportunity to receive a new piece from the line before they go on sale. In the future, Imprints by Whorl is looking forward to identifying seasonal trends and client needs to produce two collections per year."

Visit Whorl Shop's indiegogo page to help contribute to the creation of Whorl's Imprints clothing line; the campaign will last until July 3, and with just a week to go Whorl still needs $7,000. Find out more about Whorl here.
